Winterton Senior Citizens Forum - Visit to the Houses of Parliament

Local Members of Parliament Ian Cawsey and Elliot Morley received, on Tuesday 14th October, a group of pensioner's from North Lincolnshire representing Seniors Forums and friends from Barton, Brigg, Winterton, and Scunthorpe, including Councillor Marilyn Harrison, Gary Headland from Help the Aged, Anne Mulligan and Anne Cook from the Crosby Community Group, all on a trip to the Houses of Parliament.

The visit was organised by the Winterton Senior Citizens Forum in co-operation with the support of FreshStart.
Ian and Elliot kindly met and personally received everyone at the entrance to St. Stephens.

Along with Elliot's secretary Jane, we then divided into three groups and gave of their time to provide a very interesting and fascinating guided tour around the Houses of Parliament.
After the tour, a reception had been arranged in Millbank House with an excellent buffet and the opportunity to discuss concerns of our older community and the serious issues of the day with Ian and Elliot, along with the newly appointed Minister of State for Works and Pensions, Rose Winterton MP.

After the meeting there was still time to enjoy the sunshine with a short walk in the park and view the comings and goings on the River Thames, before Radleys executive coach arrived to take everyone home.

A great and memorable day was enjoyed by all.
