Winterton Iron
Winterton Iron is an enthusiastic, community-based group of Scunthorpe United Supporters of all ages and gender.
Winterton Iron was founded in the summer of 2007 as a result of an idea of Stuart Maw (Chairman) and Karen Freeman (Secretary) and the group can now boast more than 50 members.
The image below shows us at the start of our maiden away trip to Charlton in August 2007.

The team picture below is of Dale Park Under 15's wearing their Winterton Iron sponsored kit for the first time before defeating Crosby Wasps by 6-3 at Foxhills.
Jacob Hammond pictured at the Nou Camp, home of FC Barcelona, during his 5 day tour of Barcelona with Doncaster Rovers.
Jacob wishes to thank the Winterton Iron and Winterton Lions for contributing towards the cost of his trip.
He had a great time, and the team won both of their matches with Jacob keeping a clean sheet in both.
Below, Wendy Storrs presents Stuart Maw, Chairman of the Winterton Iron, with a cheque for £278. Wendy raided the money from the sponsored glider flight, that she successfully bid for, at a previous Winterton Iron function.
The money is to be split equally between L.I.V.E.S. (first response emergency unit), Lindsey Lodge Hospice and the 'Winterton Iron' whose share will be ploughed back into sponsoring youth football locally.

| The 'Bit of a Do' was hugely successful and enjoyable. Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets or donated items. £1,000 is to be presented to the local branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society, a further £500 is earmarked for the Leukaemia Ward at Sheffield Childrens Hospital. | |

| The two buses for Man City on Wednesday, October 28th will leave the Lions Head at 2.30 and then pick up at Pizza Hut. Might be a couple of places left, ring Doug. If progress on the journey is satisfactory it is hoped to have a stop at Hartshead Moor services on the way. | |

| The Cardiff game as most of you know has caused us a few problems with most of the 'hard core' of us who travel away not going because of the 'Bit of a Do' at Winterton Rangers on the Saturday night. | |

What has been decided is to open the bus booking book at Karens Fruit and Veg shop on King Street (Tel 737123) to see if there is still enough interest to run a bus to the game. The bus will cost us the best part of a thousand pounds so we need commitment before going ahead. Perhaps we will not get enough names ?? We will reach a decision at our next meeting in two weeks time on Monday July 13th.
