Chapels of Rest, Winterton Cemetery - 25th November 2009
Winterton Town Council have secured match funding for the Chapels and restoration work has now been started.
The roofs of both chapels have been sealed and work will commence shortly both on restoring the archway between the chapels, and restoring the inside of the East Chapel. It is hoped that people in the community will be able to use this chapel once it is restored, for various purposes.
The East Chapel will certainly be worth a visit as it is lovely inside, with high beams and a lot of character. It is anticipated that people will be able to shelter inside before or after funerals.

The building could be used for certain events should as exhibitions of projects. It will be a good place to exhibit during the show weekend. The Town Council just want to bring the buildings back into use.

However, it will shortly be cleared to allow the project to move forward.
